Sydney Weisman is an artist from Roslyn, New York who is pursuing a BFA in Art and Design Education at Adelphi University. She has produced a wide variety of work, experimenting stylistically as she continues to develop her craft. While engaging in the making of art on a daily basis through drawing, printmaking and painting, she has created a large body of diverse work, rendered in both realistic and abstract styles. She strives to express the nuances of human emotion through portraiture and by capturing moments in time through cityscapes, landscapes and through people watching. By exploring color, as well as the use of lines and brushwork, she creates pieces that emote strong feelings that tell the story of my subjects in candid snapshots. Visitors to her previous solo exhibits have shared experiencing a strong connection to many of the subjects and places captured in her artwork. Her true passion is that of painting. Her current study explores pathways and connections, with a dual lens, one newly focused on nature and the other continuing to capture moments of time in cityscapes. She has had two comprehensive one woman shows at the Manhasset Library in New York and will have a third upcoming solo exhibit this spring, on display at the Manhasset Library from mid May through October of 2024.
